Invisalign

As your preferred dentist in Corpus Christi, Boss Dental Care wants all our patients to have the healthiest and most attractive smiles possible. This is why our team offers preventative and general dentistry in addition to cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. While many might see cosmetic dentistry as just that – purely cosmetic and nothing to do with oral health and wellness – the reality is different. This is one of the main reasons we offer our Corpus Christi patients options for clear braces and Invisalign. Though there are many misconceptions about Invisalign and clear braces, our goal is to show you how they can help to improve both the looks and the function of your teeth and gums.

The Benefits of Invisalign Clear Braces

It is interesting to hear what people think about braces and traditional orthodontics. Very few teens or adults get excited when hearing that the answer to their dental concerns involves braces. This is because most envision the wires and brackets that are used to straighten the teeth as effectively and quickly as possible. Not only are they uncomfortable and even painful, but they are also unsightly and difficult to take care of.

Unfortunately, one of the most common misconceptions about Invisalign is that they are a form of braces because they are often described as clear braces. The fact of the matter is that they are entirely unlike braces. Instead, they are clear aligner trays that slide invisibly over the teeth and remain almost imperceptible to the naked eye.

Another of the common misconceptions about Invisalign is that they will remain in place, like braces, 24 hours per day. This too is untrue. Instead, Invisalign can come out for up to two hours daily – typically whenever you are eating or drinking. They are so comfortable and safe that you sleep with them, and even when speaking, no one will know you are wearing them.

Many of our patients also say that they have heard that Invisalign takes much longer and costs much more than classic braces and orthodontics. This too is another of the key misconceptions about Invisalign. The system, if you are approved for treatment with it, can work as quickly as six months for some, and typically no longer than two years for others. This, in many cases, is faster than braces. And as for costs, clear braces and aligner trays once were very costly, but have advanced to such a degree that they are nearly identical in pricing to other forms of orthodontics.
